Finding a kitten
We had to put my sons favorite kitty to sleep a few months ago after she was hit by a car so for his birthday in March we want to get him a kitten....Do you think we'll be able to find a kitten at the end of March, I know there are a lot in the spring but is the end of March too early?

So sorry to hear that the kitty had to be put to sleep. Your son must be so heartbroken...
I gotta ask DH which websites he went to when we were looking for a kitten.
We did end up getting our kitten through an agency called bobby and the strays in Howard Beach.
I forgot what their website is...

March is too early, Cats tend to have kittens in the early spring, which would make them old enough for adoption at some point in May. Also, they have kittens again mid summer. Too bad you weren't ready right now, my mom has an adorable little gray girl kitten. She is fixed and neutered. Here is her pic. MyRockette took the black one on Saturday.

Those kittens are cute!
Oh wow I didn't know that cats had kittens during a certain season of the year. Come to think of it we got Ralphie in September when he was 3 months old so we got him at the right time.

She still has the gray one and is desperately searching for a home. She doesn't want to have to give her to a shelter. She is afraid she won't get adopted and she has spent a lot of time with her and $$ getting her fixed up.

Just wanted to add if you go away at Christmas time you could always board her if no one is available to look after her for you. I had to board my cat for 2 nights over the summer because she was very sick and had a feeding tube. She had to be feed every 3 hours manually. My vet boards and it isn't very expensive. I am not trying to be pushy. I just want this little girl to find a loving home. She is really sweet.

She is absolutely adorable.... I just worry because we are going away from the 23-31, that's a long time and I don't want to leave her alone....maybe my MIL could watch her... I'll talk to my DH and see what he thinks

They are both sweet! I have the brother and he is such a little ham

try your local animal control, they tend to have kittens all year long.
We also have a small cat (1 year old) available for adoption.
It is recommended that if you have small children (under 5) you adopt a slightly older cat because kittens don't have full control over their claws yet, and they go through teething. Their teeth and claws are terror on baby skin.

you can always find kittens, it'll just be harder in March since there are a lot more of them born in the spring, ready to leave their mothers in the summer.
My sister was looking for a kitten last christmas, and she found one by calling around to local shelters to see who had kittens.
