X-post: internal exams- need BTDT mommies advice
I have my 1st internal exam tomorrow. I heard it hurts a lot. Does it? Can anyone put my mind at ease?

it's a little uncomfy because they really get in there to check your cervix. no speculum though....I spotted after 2 internals so do not be alarmed

It didn't make that much of an impression on me, so I guess it didn't really bother me. It just felt like a lot of pressure cuz the Doctor has to really go in there to check your cervix. You'll be fine, it doesn't take very long.

I didn't enjoy it and that's why I chose not to have anymore until I was overdue. They really don't mean anything. You can be zero and go the next day or be 3 cm and stay preggo for weeks.

didnt feel any different then a papsmear to me. not to mention it is over in a few minutes. i didnt think they hurt, uncomfortable a little, but hurt alot, no way.

For me, they were fine until the one week about three days before my due date my gyno asked me if I wanted her to "stir things up a bit". So not really getting what she said I told her sure....holy crap! She literally took her hand and stirred it all around.
And it worked...I went to the hospital the next morning and delivered!:

I will be honest say it hurt like hell, but it was over in a matter of seconds. My DH was there to hold my hand, and I know I was gripping him hard. I did not spot after and was so disappointed to hear the doc said I was not dialted or effaced.
