Got Fert report-update
So they retrieved yesterday 6. Of those 6, 1 was completely immature, 1 had an empty zona and 1 was semi-immature (they are going to keep an eye on it). Of the 3 mature for sure, only 2 fertilized with ICSI. Maybe tomorrow they will try and fertilize the last one.
I am kinda bummed about this. I know I only need one but I would have loved to have something to freeze just in case especially since I have no IVF benefits as of 2/1/06.
So looks like as of now we only have 2. Please pray that these continue to grow well!!!
1/6/06 update: so it looks like the maybe embie didnt make it. How is this for being positive: At least now I dont have to worry about whether it is worth the 2K to freeze one egg and I will be getting that money back. Hopefuly the 2 good embies stick and this will just be another lesson to add to my "everything happens for a reason" repertoire.

Oh Pauline, I am so sorry...I have been there and it can be so disheartening...
I am praying that the 2 you have (hopefully 3!) continue to grow and divide!!!

I am so sorry that some of them weren't able to be fertilized but on the other hand, I am so happy you have 2 and possibly 3 !
Tons prayers and baby dust, Pauline for a great transfer, that leads to a happy and healthy pregnancy !

YEs, this totally stinks, but lets try to think of the positive. You only need one, and you have two. So thats all it takes and no reason to be depressed ok???
As far as being upset none to freeze, dont...FET success rates are lower, just keep that in mind and do all you can to stay positive about THIS cycle.
The bad fert report means nothing ok??
Its not bad, its just "low".
There is NO reason at ALL to think that the two good eggs are not gonna fertilize...heck you could even have twins. So do NOT let this get to you Pauline. Get excited about the Transfer and get ready to believe that one or BOTH of those eggs are gonna be your baby in 9 months.
Im not being mean, I KNOW I would be beyonf devestated, but you know how I am...Im gonna force you past the saddness and make you see that theres still SOOO much hope. Dont let that die ok?
Be sad today if you need to, and then tommorow thats it. Its time to focus on being ready for the transfer.
You know Im praying for you !!!!

Well Pauline, I am praying for you...that all goes well. I guess 3 is not high but....if all 3 work -- wouldn't that be great?? Even 2... I myself was reading the consent forms last night (we sign today) and am a bit torn about what I would do with "extra" fertilized embryos..... it is a tough decidion. SO let's pray and hope and pray some more that all 3 are viable... And here is to a wonderful transfer for you and a BFP a few weeks from now!!

Two is great! How many did you think they were going to put back? As far as freezing, don't worry about that at this point. You may never need to go for a second IVF.
I'm so excited for you! Sending lots of baby dust and keeping my fingers crossed.

Don't let yourself get too upset about this! It's not a bad thing. My SIL had two transferred a couple of months ago and she is PG! Please don't let this be a downer for you, you need to be positive right now!
I am hoping and praying for you! When is the transfer? You are really in my prayers!
