A few questions about a few different things....so everyone please come in and answer one or two if you can

Okay, I have a few questions, so if any of these are in your area of expertise, please feel free to answer Chat Icon

a. How old was your baby when s/he was too big to be sleeping in a mini co-sleeper?

b. Ladies who express, I am trying to figure out of this is a fluke, but has anyone had experience of this. It seems the more water I drink, the more milk I am able to express. Is this a fluke or is it fact?

c. If Mary took a train from Pittsburgh at 3.45 and it was going 75 miles an hour, and Johnny took a bus to Scranton and it was going 55 miles an hour, what did Mary have for lunch and how much did it cost?

d. Is 11 weeks too early to let my boy cry it out when I am putting him to sleep at night? Tonight I have just spent just over an hour getting him to sleep...he sleeps great in my arms, but the minute I put him down, BANG, eyes open and he starts to cry.

e. I think thats all for now.

Thanks in advance.

a - never used a co-sleeper, can't answer

b - don't think it's a fluke - they say you are supposed to drink ALOT of water when BFing

c - a fruit & yogurt parfait from McD's.... no wait, that's what I had...hmm...can I use a calculator??

d - The standard "rule" is 4 mos for CIO but I did it at that age... but Jake never really cried, he only fussed so it was more like Fuss-it-out. Try putting him to bed earlier.

e - I'll try to answer your questions anytime Chat Icon

All I know is water makes you express more milk.
Good luck with the rest!

b. I didn't express, but more water does mean more milk generally.

d. Unfortunately, yes, I think 11 weeks is too early for CIO. Any luck with a swing or swaddle?

Re: A few questions about a few different things....so everyone please come in and answer one or two if you can

a. When they roll over, they probably shouldn't be in a co-sleeper unless you can lower it.

b. It's a fact. The more you eat & keep hydrated, the more milk you will produce.

c. She actually digested none because her train was going too fast. The force of gravity helped her to lose weight. It didn't cost her anything because she stole Johnny's wallet.

d. 11 weeks is too early for him to CIO. Do you let him fall asleep on your bare arms or on a blanket in your arms. The reason I ask is some babies are particularly attuned to temperture changes & will wake up if put down on a cooler sheet/mattress. We've actually used a hot water bottle at one point to create a warm spot on the crib mattress.

e. Ask away, that's what we're here for...

2. cant help you with

3. your too funny

4. I never had the heart to let him cry it out....until last week, I would think that 5 or 6 months should be a good start......I'll do that with my next one

Re: A few questions about a few different things....so everyone please come in and answer one or two if you can

thanks for your answers...here are mine.

a. Dr. Noah (he isn't a real doctor, but he does play one on TV) is rapidly getting too big for the co-sleeper, he is 11 weeks today, and as I said to my husband earlier this evening, he will be 12 weeks tomorrow. (I am very tired today due to the clocks going forward here, hence the confusion. I had a nap today because Dermot Mergnahan on the news this morning said that people should have a nap if they can today and I did seeing as it is BBC Sanctioned. Here is a picture of Dermot so you can see how serious you have to take him, when he says have a nap. you have a nap.)
Dermot the Nap Master
but I wouldn't have a nap if Natasha Kaplinsky told me to because she wears too much makeup
natasha too much makeup

b. Yes, the water thing is true

c. Mary is a vegan and therefore couldn't find anything to eat on the train. She had to wait until she got to Scranton for Tofurkey.

d. I will try warming up the bed again tomorrow, I have one of those things for your back which you put in the microwave for a minute or so. This should save me the hassle of putting the baby in the microwave (joking joking, he would never fit)

And yes, it is past my bedtime now (11.30 on a school night)

Thanks again ladies, its great to have some other mothers input.

Molly was in her bassinet from the day we got her home until 5 months old.

b. Ladies who express, I am trying to figure out of this is a fluke, but has anyone had experience of this. It seems the more water I drink, the more milk I am able to express. Is this a fluke or is it fact? Fact...for many women drinking a full glass of water while pumping or nursing helps with supply.

c. If Mary took a train from Pittsburgh at 3.45 and it was going 75 miles an hour, and Johnny took a bus to Scranton and it was going 55 miles an hour, what did Mary have for lunch and how much did it cost? If she found a bus that could get to NYC at did 75 miles per hour she was probably sooo happy she just ate the candy she had her in purse.

d. Is 11 weeks too early to let my boy cry it out when I am putting him to sleep at night? Tonight I have just spent just over an hour getting him to sleep...he sleeps great in my arms, but the minute I put him down, BANG, eyes open and he starts to cry.
IMO, CIO is NOT for an 11 week old. Letting a baby cry for 3 minutes or so..that is fine. but to CIO for 10+ minutes at a time, he is too young. IMO, of course. He needs to know that you are there. He has no way of communication other than crying right now.

B. Def a fact!!! A cold beer is supposed to help your supply too- if you wanna try thatChat Icon

c. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

D. I think he is still a little young.... Try putting him in his crib, awake and happy.... Dont let him fall asleep in your arms first....
