ANother job search question...
I applied for 2 jobs at one company and I just learned that my one contact there was just promotoed to VP. Does it look funny if I call him? The thing is I made the contact through my current position.
I thought maybe I should send a Congrats email and then in another week or so call him about the job just to say I applied?

I see nothing wrong with doing that-- I have contacted people that I met through work.. you gotta leverage everything you got.

Networking is the #1 way people find jobs, so absolutely give him a call, or shoot an e-mail and let him know that you applied for the job, and congratulate him!
