Ive set off many alarms with my new jeans. The best is when you are walking into the store and it goes off. Lik ehey lady how did you steal something if you havent been in the store yet. I always get the nicest of looks. Chat Icon

OMG! Old Navy is the worst with this. It makes absolutely no since either...you walk out of their store fine...no alarms going off. Then one day I totally forgot about the alarm (after washing it several timesChat Icon ) and walk out of Rite-Aid setting off the alarms!Chat Icon

It took me months before I realized that the tag in one of my jeans was what was setting off the alarms in stores! Chat Icon

Re: Security Tags in Clothing!

yep, unfortunately thats the measures they have to take now to prevent theft.

My sister works at the gap - they don't have to worry about putting those heavy plastic tags on the clothing and possibly creating holes anymore....

but i pointed out how easy it is for someone to just snip off the tags when they're in the dressing room. All you need is a little pocket knife or sewing scissors! When I was younger, I knew people that would do this alll the time. (Go in the the fitting room and wear the stolen clothing out of the store, layered underneath their regular clothing Chat Icon

Re: Security Tags in Clothing!

I remember when JCrew started with the tags. They had signs in the dressing room that said something like "have you seen our new security system? It's almost invisible.." or something like that.
