Please give me a pep talk ..UPDATED>>> I DID IT Skydiving !!!
I SKYDIVED YESTERDAY !!!!
Here is my situation,
My DH received a Skydiving G.C. for his birthday and this is something I too have always wanted to do.
He is jumping next weekend !
Please talk to me......

I think you should go for it. I am sure that the people there are trained to help you get over your fears. If its something you always wanted to do- I woudl go for it. You would be amazed at what you can do. I actually walked across firey hot coals. I was all confident and when I got up there I couldn't do it. It took me some time to regroup- but then I did it- and it was so easy- I couldn't beleive it!

I think it is important to know you have options. If the anxiety or nervousness is just too much for you; you could always cancel, it wouldn't be the end of the world. BUT...... if you were to do it , think of how liberated and proud of yourself you would be!!!!! It sounds like it would be a great accomplishment for you!! Something to think about.

I think that will make it easier. Friends of ours went and got the video tap it looked pretty amazing, but Im TERRIFIED of heights.
They said the feeling they had was just priceless and AMAZING

Yes, it has to be tandem. I think you have to do 6 tandem before you can jump alone, I don't need to ever jump alone !!!

You are going to love it. I jumped tandem before, it is great. Just try and turn your anxiety into excitement. It is a huge thing, you will be flying!! but it is over so quick. so just enjoy, let your professional on your back do all the worrying.
I was shocked to see how many times a day the guys who work their jump. The camera man goes over and over again.
Have a great time!!

there is a lot going on at that moment. Everyone is getting ready to jump and they open the door. The tandem guys are so calm that you never think twice about it. You have to do it because that feeling only lasts a little over a minute then you have to pull the chute. My guy was English. So between the plane engine, the wind, and his strong accent, I had no idea what he was saying. I stood at the opening he crossed my arms close to my chest. He was saying something, I turned to him to say what, and little did I know he was counting down. So away we went. I had so many worries of not being able to breathe...but I did not think of it once. I was smiling on my video and waving and blowing kisses. The plane ride up, my face had a look of terror on it. But once it was happening it was fine.
Everyone hates traveling with DH and I. Everytime we are on a plane, we are always like we were this high, no we were this high...
DH is addicted to it. The money stops me from going again.

this is a pic taken at the place I went to in Florida. I wish I had access to my pics so that you could see how nervous I was in the plane and what a great time I had once I jumped.

Ok, where to start - I said in the earlier post that I have anxiety issues - so I did take my med that morning - that had to help me.
The plane ride was the longest part - about 20 min. we were 13,500 feet up - I have such better pictures but they are a different format that jpg.
When that door opened it wasn't bad, leaving the plane was sooo fast that you didn't have time to panic.
The freefall was amazing!
The parachute ride was a little rocky for me, felt nausea - like motion sickness from a boat.
It was GREAT !

i did it years ago in college upstate, but it was a little different as you can see - i had to hang on and let go of the strut of the wing of the plane.. it was crazy, but it was fun. The hardest part was getting out into the position I am in at that height above the ground!  Image Attachment(s):
