Might be relocating and have question about moving..

DH was offered a position in NJ (it's still in the talking/negoating phase) but I am due in April so if he has the option of when to start what do you guys recommend as moving before or after the baby?

I would try and move before the baby, this way you're settled when the baby comes. JMO...

To me, it would depend on how far away you were from the hospital and the doctor that you are delivering in. If you are going to be 2 hours from your doctor or hospital- then I would hold off until after the baby is born. Just make sure your DH knows that you will not move in until EVERYTHING is unpacked and put away- so he will be on his own until then.


If the difference is not significant, then I would say move now. It'll be easier to do everything before the baby comes. You can supervise the move and help him put things away. Men can be clueless about these things.

before, we moved when i was about 5 monts pregnant and it was nice to have everything in place before the baby arrived.

Thanks ladies. I was thinking before also and hopefully everything works out but that means finding a house and selling ours in 13 weeks!

We are moving back from Florida to NY at the Beginning of June and I will be 7 mths pregnant. We are doing it before so we can get settled and unpack without having to care for the little one.

Definately before. THe last thing you need to worry about with a new baby is unpacking boxes.
