African-American church or Charlotte Catholics

Charlotte peeps...I did not want to fm and put anyone on a church going spot or pry...so I will put it out there...anyone found a catholic church they like?

I want to register in a parish asap since I have a baby coming. I haven't registered yet since we aren't buying a home where I am located at now.

The area where we are buying(University) looks like the closest church is our Lady of Consolation Church, which is an African American church...is it really?

For anyone: What does that mean? Are white people there? DH said it sounds better and will be less boringChat Icon

If that is the closest church, isn't that the parish church then? I guess I should call the diosese..

Re: African-American church or Charlotte Catholics

I think the closest one to me (I am in the university area) is the one on Shamrock....I am actually going there to register and to speak with the priest about getting my marriage recognized by the catholic church (we were married civily)

I want to be able to get my baby baptised.....let me know if you find a closer one, you can probably look in Concord and they may have one. Concord is very close to where I live

Re: African-American church or Charlotte Catholics

thanks..I have been looking at that and mapquesting all of them. The African American one is the closest. I guess I should make the trip there this sunday and check it out, maybe it is a neighborhood church with African American traditions?

The church that we go to now is not zoned for where we will be buying a house.

Janice - if you're still looking to buy by me. I went to St Thomas Aquinas. 10 minute drive on a Sunday. It's on highway 49 near UNCC. It was nice. I liked it.

meghan! saved me again!! I will go there on sunday. thanks!! I need to get registered ASAP. I was going to St Patricks in Dilworth, but you have to be zoned.

oh by the way...you are going to probably be seeing a lot of me walking around wellington with a stroller in a few months. we are bidding on a house tomorrow. after tons and tons of subdivision searching, nothing gives us the feeling that wellington/brownes ferry does. don't worry, you can end our relationship hereChat Icon I know my behavior is completely stalkerish. Unless of course, you play tennis...I need a partnerChat Icon

YAY! Good luck on the bid! You're not stalkerish at all. As I said before, I can't wait to meet you.

Have you been on the nature trail yet in Wellington? It's sooo great.

Im a sucky tennis player, but I love to play.

Re: African-American church or Charlotte Catholics

great!! Leo isn't any competition at all for me, so my game has never improved.Chat Icon

We meet with Jim tomorrow. We are going to look at 2 ranches with him, then go to the house we want. He said he wants us to compare.

We were too late on a bid earlier this week. There is a yellow house on the corner of Hazlitt, we were a day or two too late..but it was small. Everything happens for a reason.

So now if all goes right, I will be in your subdivision, and at your church..Chat Icon I hope our personalities click!
