I feel horrible today
my heartburn is so bad I dont even know what to do with myself and I was up ALL night last twisting and turning so I am exhausted. I feel like I am not going to make it through this day  I just feel like crawling in a hole We are throwing a baby shower for one of my coworkers today and I dont even want to go. I dont really like her to begin with but today I just dont think that I could tolerate her. I know that it sounds really bad to say that...maybe its just because I dont feel well Thanks for letting me vent!

You'll make it through the day and then go to bed really early tonight- some days are worse than others for me with sleeping, gas pains, heartburn....i hope you feel better- have you tried a nice cold glass of milk? That usually eases my heartburn a bit....

Genna I'm so sorry you aren't feeling well  Try to take Tums they seem to work for some people and just put your head up do whatcha gotta do today and it will be over before you know it!!! Then it's bedtime!!!

i'm sorry.
i feel you pain.
yesterday I had heart burn all day from the night before- it was never ending. I swear i drank a gallon of skim milk and took a gazillion tums and it didn't work- maybe the baby was sitting in a way that was making it worse- who knows.
i have a history of this too- i'm bringing this up tomorrow @ my appt- b/c tums do NOTHING

thanks everyone...I have a dr's appointment tomorrow morning and I have to tell her about this heartburn...NOTHING HELPS!! I was on Protonix prior to becoming pg and I also had stomach surgury about 5 years ago because I had no valve on my stomach and the acid was burning my esophogus. So being off the protonix has been terrible!
And to top off my day, I have been feeling like I need to cry my eyes..I have been feeling this way since yesterday. These hormones can make you crazy!

Feel better and try to make it through your day!Hope fully the doctor will give you some tips for dealing with the heartburn. Hang in there.

i was on protonix too.
i have a hiateal (sp) hernia- when the valve doesn't close all the way
sometimes I have non stop heartburn- sometimes nothing- when I am under stress it is worse- I have been REALLY lucky w/ the heartburn the past 2 years, i haven't had to medicate at all.
but now it is really bad so I too am asking the doc what can be taken- she did say that zantac was OK- just want to confirm.

The dr. said that I have a hiatel hernia also...but I had no valve on my stomach. The surgury helped so much. I had precancerous cells on my esophogus from the acid. Keep me posted..I am going to ask my dr. also about zantac

Hi guys - I know this is an extremely old post, but I was wondering if your drs ever allowed you to take PPI's (protonix, prilosec etc) while being pregnant. Did certain trimesters effect stomach problems.
I am taking protonix as well and we are TTC so I dont know what will happen to me...

My doc gave me a script for pepsid...
that worked OK- but really, changing my diet helped the most- no white flour, simple carbs, etc.
