IUI question
Update and questions:
I met with Dr. Chu (NSUH) yesterday, and she saw one follicle. She said I should be ovulating in about 3 days and expect to do an IUI on Monday or Tuesday. She also said to use the ovulation predictor sticks to detect my surge--which should be Sunday or Monday. Well, I just did a test, and it is positive. (it's Saturday at 1130 am) Do I just show up at the lab tomorrow morning with DH's speciman? Where do I get a speciman container? (CVS? or Walgreens?) Do I just repeat the test tomorrow just to make sure I am reading it right and go in Monday for the IUI? Sorry if I sound like a crazy person--I am suddenly feeling overwhelmed.

Re: IUI question
I would call the office - even though its Saturday there is an emergency number
as for the specimen - can DH go to NSUH with you and produce there? if not, i am pretty sure the RVC pharmacy has them

Re: IUI question
DH needs to give the specimen then and there when they do the IUI.
The sperm has to be fresh....!!
When did you take the trigger shot?? Should be 36-48 hours before the IUI.

Re: IUI question
are the lines the same color. With OPKs the test line needs to be as dark as the control.
I would call NSUH to find out what to do. I dont think you can just show up.
But I was always able to bring my sample in (just has to get there within an hour). Next time you are there ask for extra sample cups to take home.

Re: IUI question
yes you can just show up at NSUH on the weekends. Sunday drop offs are at 7:30 am and IUIS at 9:30. You dont need an appointment to show up, I saw a few people come in this am ( I had an iui) who had no appnt but got a surge the night before. Usually they will tell you that, if you get a surge on a friday /saturday to just come in the next day at the specific time. They do all their IUIS at the same time on the weekends. So also be prepared to wait.
We were there to srop off at 8 am today, came back at 9:30 and left at 11 am. Just to give you a sense.
I think doing an iui tommorow and then again on monday is your best bet. I would definatly do it tommorow to make sure you dont miss it.
They will do another on Monday, NSUH always does two IUIS back to back.
Maybe I will see ya there tommorow
eta- you can get sterile cups at CVS or someplace like that yes...
