Another happy teacher post
I've been getting little trinkets from the kids all week (chocolate, fruit, today was flowers).
Well, one of the boys I have for Social Studies, bless his little heart, brings me a plastic bag with a post-it note that says, "To: Mrs. H. From: Dirk B."
I open it up and inside are flowers that he obviously pulled out of the ground - I almost cried. Now, don't get me wrong, I loved the other stuff that I got from the kids... but you can tell he was the only one to really want to give that to me. I know his family doesn't have much money - so he went out of his way to get that for me, and I love my weeds 
I just wanted to share that - those kids can drive me up the wall, but they can also melt my heart.

That is THE BEST. It was only after I taught did I understand why moms will keep the rock you painted in kindergarten in the china cabinet, the noodle-necklace next to her diamond in her jewelry box, etc.
I still have the first present one of my former students gave me (student teaching) from a girl named Jenna, a #1 Teacher sign.

It's the best feeling.
I also got a card from a parent saying that this was her son's best year so far - he's consistently on the honor roll and loves everything he's learning.
This really lifted my spirits considering how much I was doubting myself all year.
I'm gonna miss the little goobers.
