I need some trip planning help

Our first trip is to NY in a couple of weeks. I'm not too worried about that since we'll be at MIL's. I'll have a washer and dryer, car, and she has all the baby stuff from my nephew.

My big concern is our Disney trip in May. I am at a loss on how much of what to pack. How do I bring baby food and bottles and such to the park. Miranda never eats an entire jar in one sitting and I would hate to waste half a jar several times a day. It gets expensive since I only use organic.

What about swimming. Do they make some kind of floatie thing for babies. I mean obviously we'll be holding her but I want a back up just in case.

What about diapers? We won't have a car since we're staying in Disney. Also how do I pack all this stuff. Especially the baby food thats in glass jars?

I am feeling overwhelmed. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Hmm....tough one. What if you waited until you got there and bought jars of food once you got there? Will there be a refrigerator in your hotel room? What if you bought tupperware containers and put half of the food in there and left the rest in the fridge, so you wouldn't be wasting food? Or maybe bring a cooler with you with an ice pack in it and put what she doesn't eat in there?

ETA: As for diapers, maybe do the same...obviously bring some for the plane trip, but maybe buy a box once you're there?
The sell some great pool things at BRU. There's one raft that I'm going to get that has a sun visor over it.

The problem is we won't have a car once we get there so I'm not sure how I would go about getting to a store to buy stuff once we're in Florida. Chat Icon

I would recommend bringing a small cooler and storing the half-used jars in there. It isn't milk so I don't think it would go bad or anything, and the icepacks would help. Also they have bottle storers where you can keep a few bottles in it at appropriate temps (hot or cold) for up to 3 hours.

As far as the swimming I would think one of the floats like what was posted above would be great but also you can buy swim suits that have floatation devices built into them.

I found this site to have a lot of things available.

Also I know there are a few companies now that make snugli/baby bjorn types of things that are waterproof. I remember seeing one of them in bru when we were doing our registry.

HTH!

You will probably have to pack a suitcase just with Miranda's essentials (diapers, food, formula, etc...). As for the baby food, I agree with using tuppaware and/or cooling pack.

How will you get to/from the airport? Car rentals are so cheap in Orlando, I'd rent a car for a day when you get there to buy baby stuff and to maybe just leave Disney and explore Orlando.

Disney picks us up and takes us back to the airport . I guess I could see how much a cab trip to the nearest grocery store would be. Chat Icon

The tupperware is a great idea. I will get those small sized gladwares. We will have a fridge in our room so I can just pack the meals we'll need when we venture out to the parks.
