I need Job Help/Career suggestions

Ok, the short story is I have been having bad bad back pain and arm and hand numbness and pain. Im having some tests done to figure out why, but in the mean time its been pointed out I have Carpal Tunnel Snydrome and some neck crap associated with sitting at a desk and typing for the last 10 years.

Two drs this week have stated it will not get better unless I leave my profession.

NOW WHAT?

Im in school and hopefully will be starting nurseing school sometime next year so I need to find some type of "career" move for say now- 3-5 years from now.

I work in Customer Service. I make a pretty decent salary ( health insurance)

Any ideas on what I could do? I have thought of things like Sales, Real estate etc?

I need something obviously more entry level , yet with not an 8-9 hr. desk job and I need the money to be enough to live on and start immediately.

Sounds like a REALLY hard thing to do...so Im turning to you all for some help or ideas?!?!

if you are looking to go into nursing school why not work as a medical assistant, nursing assistant, home health aide or something like that.

I like the HHA idea, except I know they pay next to nothing , but I might be able to take a pay cut.

As far as medical assisting etc goes, I dont know if I have enough experience.

i was a medical receptionist at a doctors office and they needed an assistant so i stepped into the position and they trained me sometimes they are willing to do this if you say you are interested in becoming a nurse. I worked there 8 years and now i am an RN.

I know my mom trains medical assistants with no experience...she would just rather have smart people working for her

I know her office does not pay well ...but because it is affilated with Mount sinai hospital they have good benefits and do not pay co-pays to see doctors in their group which is pretty big

Donna what about pharmaceutical sales?? They make a ton of $$, and you have been working in the health field which may be a help when looking...
