TIME: Registration/Check In @ 10 am
Races @ 11 am & 12 pm

Adult 5K Run: Start time – 11 am
Adult Walk: Immediately following
Children’s Run – 1 mile: Start time – 12 pm
Children’s Walk: Immediately following

PURPOSE: Family fun day is a benefit in honor of Dottie Person. Dottie is a 32 year-old wife and mother of 5 children, ages 4 months, 2, 4, 5, & 7. She has recently been diagnosed with Melanoma Lung Cancer. Before she became ill, Dottie loved to go on runs/walks and enjoy life with her family. Now her friends want to help raise money to defray the costs of the additional healthcare and childcare Dottie needs to get her through this time.

LOCATION: Events will begin in front of McMurray Hall located on the campus of Maritime College, Throgs Neck, NY

EARLY ENTRY: Received by July 1, 2006
Adults - $20 / Children - $10
Entry fee includes a T-Shirt

LATE/EVENT ENTRY: Received after July 1, 2006
Adults - $25 / Children - $10
Event day entry does not include a T-shirt

AGE: No minimum or maximum age limit

RAIN DATE: Sunday, July 16th, if severe rain/storm….(drizzle, we’re still on for the 15th)

AFTER RACE ACTIVITIES: Volleyball, horseshoes, fishing, face painting, and more…..

FOOD & REFRESHMENTS: Hamburger, hot dogs, sausage and peppers, chicken sandwiches, watermelon, beverages, coffee and desserts all available for purchase. No outside coolers please (remember this is a benefit).

VOLUNTEERS/DONATIONS: Volunteers are needed to make this day special. If you are interested in volunteering please call (718) 409-7474, to see how you can help. Additionally, Dottie’s Fun Walk/Run is seeking companies who are willing to donate products, services or prizes that can be used to make this benefit a success.
