Anyone want to see our wedding highlights?
I know it's been over 1½ years since this was recorded, but I finally figured out how to pull the file off the DVD and convert it to an MPG. The quality on the file isn't perfect, but you get the point.

Donna, I used DVDZip (donwloaded a free trial version). You just load the DVD, and you can choose menu items from the DVD, and set the settings to record as an avi, wma, mpg, or any other versions they have. It was pretty simple. I can give you full details, if you'd like.

You asked, I delivered. Here are full details of how I converted from a DVD to a video file (MPG).
1st I downloaded the trial version of DVDZip program: Click here to download
After installing the program on my computer, I opened it, and it looks like this:
I clicked on IFO FILE, and clicked on the drive containing the DVD (I believe this will only work if the drive reads DVDs), and into the folder/path containing the file I wanted to convert, then clicked OPEN:
After it adds the file to the program, like this:
*You can click on RANGE (below the Previewed video) to pinpoint specific points to be converted.
You then click on how you want it to be converted. I chose TO MPEG, with the settings shown:
It then starts to convert:
And you will be prompted when it's complete. Check in the output folder for your converted file, and you're done.

I am trying it now, but for some reason when I was trying to download, it wasn't going to 100% and it was saying interrupted by user, meanwhile I wasn't even touching anything . . . . I am trying again!

Its possible that your DVD might be protected.

Um... can you open the files on the DVD through My Computer? If so, you can copy the IFO files to your pc, and do it that way instead of waiting for the DVD to load.
