Preggos that are Jewish
Hi- I have a question for the Jewish moms who are pregnant or already had their babies.
If you were not taking any gifts into the house, if someone gave you something how would you handle it.
Yesterday someone gave me something and I told them that I do not accept anything until after the baby is born.
Just wanted to know how other people handled it.
Thanks!

Re: Preggos that are Jewish
We actually did get some gifts already and the deal my DH and I struck was that we could leave it at my inlaws and also have something already in the car. For us, the reality of the situation was that there were some things we absolutely needed before the baby was born and I don't want my DH running around just after the baby is born gathering things like the baby car seat, getting it installed, getting the "take home" outfit, breast pump, etc.... Then there are the nice to have things which we registered for but we can get that in time. HTH!

Re: Preggos that are Jewish
WE have received some things also and what we are doing is keeping everything at my mom's house until the baby is born, right now we have a couple of gifts, a glider, my layette and bris outfit waiting to be used once the baby is born.
When it comes to writing thank you's regarding gifts, I have already informed my friends that in our faith we usually don't get gifts until the baby is born so we will send out thank you's at that time. They understood but it was a little awkward saying that...
