Acid Reflux
OMG, it's killing me. Tums only work for like a minute. I tried the liquid mylanta, and that doent help either.
According to many, this is NOT something that goes away after the first trimester either. I guess I'd better get used to it

Re: Acid Reflux
Ok, I had this really terribly for a couple of weeks, however, I upped my water intake, started taking Maalox right after I ate and cut down on acidic foods, and I hardly get it anymore. I also prop myself up at night when I sleep. I read that the hormones that soften your uterus to expand also soften the opening from your eophogus to your stomach, allowing acids to spill up. The water inbetween meals seems to help the most.
ETA: When it was REALLY bothering me, I would crush up ice and eat that straight. Or I'd eat frozen canteloupe and honey dew melon balls(from the frozen section in the supermarket). It didn't cure it, but it helped alleviate the burning sensation.

Re: Acid Reflux
Thanks so much, I drink a ton of water but it doesnt help.
I am definitely going to try eating some ice! That should definitely cool my throat.
Im also going to try the maalox tablets after I eat! Thanks again
