Arrgh!! Help me find a home?? PLEASE
I am up to my wits end having a hard time finding a home that we like that is affordable. Maybe we are limiting where we are looking cause of where our family lives. So far we have been looking in New Hyde Park and Floral Park areas.
Maybe we should look to other areas? So I am sorta venting here but also asking for help. Show me some nice homes in the western part of Nassau in decent school districts? PLEASE!! Its just my DH and I.
And no we cannot look anywhere else cause of where our jobs take us. I work in Suffolk county and my huband works in NYC and NJ.

thats why we are looking in suffolk - you get more for your $$.
what about Levittown? its more east than New Hyde Park, but affordable (the taxes are kind of high though)

I looked a lot in Island Park. They've got a decent selection of houses for under 400 (not sure of your budget, obviously) and the taxes are low. I'm buying in east rockaway....reasonable options there, too.

We're buying a cape in Levittown.
I work in Island Park, and the majority of my coworkers live here as well. Their main gripe is flooding in basements when there's major rain. some of the side streets are impassible too.

We live in Bethpage. I work in the city and he works in Woodbury. For you it would be smack in the middle.
You are going to find that you have to consider other areas. You really limit yourself sticking to one or two towns. No wonder you're at your wits end.
We stuck with a few towns for so long and a realtor showed us Bethpage and the rest is history. Excellent school district.

Thanks for your responses everyone. I will check out some of the areas you all suggested. I think Levittown is more east than we want to be. My husband drives to Piscataway, NJ 3 days a week for work. I need to go south I think.
Is there a map of the school districts on Long Island somewhere?

NHP FP high priced areas, how about Franklin Square? Or maybe Merrick easy commute
