Well i still can't tell really
BUT since you like pulling your hair back, i was JUST reading the latest Cosmo and they showed the "newest" instyle way to do it....
Looked liked like the way JLo does it

i don't know if it is out of style, but I do like layers and big hair. I think if the rubber band came out and you diffused it, you could still keep your lenght and have a style. You hair looks really healthy and has a nice shine

Honestly, it doesn't matter. those people on the street need to sell those services so they will probably say anything.
If you are comfortable and works for you, that's what matters.

Those guys have approached me also. It is kinda a scam. They do give you a free basic makeover, but then they try and get you to color your hair and other extras.

There is nothing wrong with your look from what I can tell.

I think maybe a style with more face-framing hair could be more flattering, and possibly shoulder-length...Maybe some brown highlights to brighten and give it more dimension...But I don't know if I would ever say pulled back hair is out of style.

I dont think its out of style. My hair is up in a ponytail from the minute I walk out of the house in the AM till I get home.

I think you look fine. I wear my hair the same way sometimes. I too have naturally curly hair.....

as for the people who approached you, dont pay any mind to what they say. They bother me on a DAILY basis - its not my fault I have to go through Grand Central!

Those guys talk to anyone and everyone they can get their hands on. When I worked in the city, they used to hang out outside of my office and approach my friends and me every time we walked out of the door. It was so annoying. Do NOT take it personally!

I have straight hair, but I wear it pretty much the smae way. Lately I started to think it was not so much out of style, but just no style & kind of young looking.
I cut it shorter, with a layeers & added long bangs, & I like it, but right now it is too hot for bangs, so I am back to pulling it back.

I think this is what Red was saying, but the "new " way to do it is just to pull back the top & leave more of the sides down. Or pull the sides back tight, with more height on the top.

FUNNY STORY-
I work in the city and just a few weeks ago I got my haircut during my lunch break. I JUST walked out of the salon and was crossing Union Square and I guy stopped me and asked me who cut my hair and that I needed to use his services... I JUST LEFT THE SALON!! They stop me all the time in Union Square. They're so annoying.

Don't listen to them. They are just trying to sell you their scam!

Those hair peeps always stop me too..I always get a little bothered by them always approaching me, but after I refuse to listen to them..I hear them approaching 10 other people behind me..but, like someone said if you are ok with your hair and feel comfortable with it..than stick with it! I like your length and curls!!
