Seller wants to close this week!!!!

We've been waiting on our seller's lawyer for all sorts of information, but our lawyer - who has been wonderful - has been proceeding as much as he can in the meantime. He asked us when we'd like to close and we suggested January 25, although we said we can do it earlier if everything was ready, saying the 19th was also doable. My husband just got a call that the seller wants to close this week!!!

YIKES! Talk about NO notice!!!! We just gave our 4-week notice on our apartment (currently renting) on Friday, so now we're going to end paying an extra half-month in rent! It's not that big a deal - although we haven't ordered any furniture or an all-important washing machine!!! - it's jsut frustrating because we've been waiting for her lawyer for 2 months now, and suddenly she's desperate to move!

Aside from that, though, I'm excited!

you can get a washing machine in 3 days. I know becuase we did. It will be fine. As for ordering furniture, I think it is ok to wait. We are finally expecting our furniture within the next couple of weeks and have been here since November. As for necessities, so long as you have a bed and a folding table and chairs you should be ok.

Wow, that was crazy!

As much as it ***** to pay that extra half month, it might make the whole process of moving a little easier- you will have a bit more time to paint, clean, etc. if you're going to do that. We ended up paying more rent too, because of when we closed, but we were able to get a jump on painting and little repairs that we wanted done before all our furniture and stuff was there.
