Not like it is a bad thing b/c it's almost like buying for my home, but Scholastic is like my new best friend. Between Lakeshore, amazon.com and scholastic.com, I spend so much money buying books!!! Chat Icon

I don't buy as much for my room as I use too. I've been teaching for eight years in the same grade, that could be why. I am sure if I switched grades, I'd be buying things like crazy. Just save your receipts for tax time.

I was a coach last year so most of what I bought was professional books. But now I am going back into the classroom again (yay!) and I may need a few things, but it'll mostly be stuff to help me organize myself and the kids. I have accumulated a lot of stuff over the years.

It's my first year teaching Kindergarten- I can't tell you how much I spent (I just hope I can find an accountant to help me write it all off!) I'm hoping it won't be the same next year!

Just save all your receits. I save EVERYTHING, including candy I buy, munchkins, and even renting a movie for the class.

Really? I never thought about that. You're able to write off that stuff?

Yup!!! We have teacher's choice, but I spend a lot more than that, so hello Mr. Accountant, please write off everything else!!! I keep a manilla envelope for those receipts!
