any good remedies?
I have been sick since Wednesday. I went to the doctor because half my class has strep throat. I am on antibiotics, but my cold and sore throat just keeps getting worse. Anything you can suggest? I'll try anything at this point!

awww thanks! I am just extra cranky because this is the first weekend in 3 weeks that I am not in class. Of course I cant go out, and I am stuck in bed. So annoying!

VICKS, cough drops, plenty of tea with lemon, oh, and a nice hot shower. I know there's supposed to be some sort of over the counter remedy thing you can drink - you put a 'disc' in some water and it dissolves...i think it comes in different flavors...supposed to be loaded with vitamin c...sorry don't know the name of it.

Maybe give your current antibiotic a few more days and then go back to the doc? I was once sick w/ an upper respiratory infection, and on antibiotics. The same day I finished them, I had the most terrible sinus pain and I had a bad infection there too. This was in spite of the fact that the stuff I'd been on was also indicated for sinuses. It was just a really stubborn infection. I got another kind and they worked.

DH swears by gargaling with peroxide and those zinc lozenges - they are in a red box with near the cough drops.

When my throat is really sore, I use the Chloroseptic throat spray. It soothes and then sort of numbs your throat and gives me some relief from the coughing too.
