NYC Trendy Restaurant Needed

I have to buy my 21-year old male cousin a gift certificate to a trendy restaurant for Christmas.

Any suggestions for something fun and trendy for him and his girlfriend?

Trendy...Like how Trendy...I've been to Justin's in they city. It's really trendy inside but the food isn't all that. Asia De Cuba is good & trendy. Chat Icon

are you looking for scene (people watching/ celebs, etc...) or food? Also- what budget of restaurant are you looking for.

Spice Market is semi trendy and very good. Tao is still trendy, although not new, and the food is excellent

I'm looking for scene/fun/trendy place they can both enjoy. He looks like he stepped out of an Abercrombie ad and his girlfriend has all the latest pocketbooks and clothes. They are adorable.

I want to get a G/C for about $100 (it doesn't have to cover the entire meal, but I don't want them spending 1,000 on dinner either)

I would still recomment Tao then. I have seen quite a few celebs there.

I would agree on Tao too. I've heard it's a hot spot. You can't go wrong w/ that.

I recommend Pastis. Its in the heart of the meatpackign district and there are always celebs there. Its expensive, but not outrageous. And the food is yummy!

Tao is a good choice. Craft is good. Nobu is always chic, but very expensive. I don't know if Mercer Kitchen is still trendy, but it used to be. Cipriani's is another great place- but it can be very expensive.

Hope this helps.

Tao is good.

Nobu is good too, but like Shelly said, expensive, so if you get a gift card it would have to be a pretty big one to make a dent!

How about Koi (in the Bryant Park hotel)

One of my favorites is China Grill. The best desserts!

I LOVE Tao too.

Or the new Nobu on 57th.

Another Tao vote. I'm not a big Spice Market fan.

Nobu, Pastis, Spice Market or the restaurant in the Maritime hotel...

I'm not a huge Tao fan- the food is OVERRATED.
