my ds climbed out of his crib last night

my ds just turned 2 in july, last night he climbed out of his crib for the first time and walked into the living room like it was an ordinary occurance. i guess no more crib, huh,?? . im just nervous, he will be walking the house all night now, any suggestions?? tia

maybe put a baby gate at his doorway with the door open. Not really sure since I am not at that stage yet.

My DD started to do this at 15 months...we got her the crib tent because I think she is too young to go into a toddler bed she is only 19 months now and I want to keep her in her crib as long as possible

We put Caiden in his big boy bed at 20 months and I kept a gate in his doorway with the door open. When he wakes up in the morning or during the night he'll either stay in bed and cry/call for me or go to the gate. At least this way he's not roaming the house. He's over 2.5 and has yet to try to climb the gate. Good luck! It's not as bad as you think. The worst part of it is putting the crib away. I had tears!!!

My son is 15 months and just did this last week, we have a convertible crib but only from a crib to a full bed. We purchased a toddler bed and use a baby gate at his door at night. He seems to enjoy the freedom now he wakes up and plays with his toys for a while until I wake up. You just have to remember they can now get into everything so I had to put hook locks on the closet and move the medicine from his room. It is an adjustment but part of growing up I guess.
