Best Diapers for the best price?

Just curious. There are so many out there and I don't want to spend a fortune trying them all out

TIA Should I start stocking up now when they go on sale?

I tried Huggies, Especially for Baby and Pampers Swaddlers and Baby Dry. My favorites are Pampers Swaddlers. My son leaked thru the Huggies and Especially for Baby were so much smaller than the Pampers and felt like plastic. Pampers Baby Dry were good but they're not as soft as the Swaddlers and don't have the elastic bands on the side like the Swaddlers do.

You could stock up. I would get 3-4 packs of newborn size (you can always return them if you don't use all of them) and 1 box or if they're really cheap you can get 2 boxes of the Size 1-2 to start off.

Sign up on Pampers website and they'll send you coupons.

ETA: Newborn Huggies and Pampers are about the same price--$11 of 12 for 40 Newborn diapers. I'm not sure about the Huggies box but Pampers Swaddlers are $31 or $32 for the size 1-2 box of 204 diapers

I wouldn't stuck up just yet....Different diapers work for different babies. Find out what the hospital uses. Also remember they will send you some with some.

If you really do want to buy some before the baby arrives, buy the small packs.

My son used Pampers Baby Dry until he wore size 2 and then we switched to Pampers Cruisers.

We started out with Pampers Swaddlers. I suggest you just buy a package to see if you like them.

the hospital gave us a small pack of Pampers swaddlers new baby (yellow package). I got Huggies Newborn and various brands and sizes from a diaper shower.

I also bought WalMarts White Cloud brand....all are working VERY well for us. White cloud was $6 and change for 40 diapers.

I tried Huggies and didn't like them and I also tried Pampers Babydry and didn't like them either. My favorites were the Swaddlers and we're now on Cruisers (the next stage of Swaddlers).
Like other people said, you need to see what works best for your baby though. Once you do figure it out, then you can stock up a bit. Some of the best deals I've found were at BJ's, especially since you can use coupons there. It seems like you're spending a lot of money at once when you buy at a wholesale club like that, but you end up saving a lot in comparison to supermarkets. I buy my Pampers there.

When Sarah was smaller (sizes NB, 1 & 2) I could use Pampers Swaddlers and White Cloud (Walmart brand) and no leaks.

Once she moved into size 3 White Cloud started to leak (bummer because they are so reasonably priced) so we use Pampers Cruisers.

Huggies and Pampers Baby Dry never worked for us.

It really all depends on the size and shape of your baby. I've heard rave reviews about pampers but everytime I've used them on Alex, they leak. We get either huggies or luvs. We usually buy a big, big box of huggies at Costco that will last about a month.

I would say Luvs (from BJs) had the best price.

I saw a commerical for Pampers & they supposedly lowered their preices

I have to agree with the swaddlers/cruisers. Babies R Us is sending out a 15% diaper coupon in the next week or so, and you can use the one coupon for as many cases of diapers as you want.

I think Luvs are great - I switched about 2 months ago and love them. I use to buy White Cloud but my DH is so anti-Walmart, he has finally convinced me to curtail my shopping there.

Wow really? They've never let me use a 15% off coupon on diapers there. They always tell me that they can't be used on diapers or formula.

I've used LUVS for nearly 2 years now with Gabriella. Gianni I had a hard time in the beginning and could only use Huggies Supreme, but now that his legs have filled out a little, LUVS work great.

It's true though, you never know what will work because it all depends on the shape of the baby.
