Let's talk Boots...
I am not really into UGGs at all.
But my feet are always cold in the winter plus I teach in Brooklyn and there is no parking so I usually have to walk a few blocks in the snow to get to work....
Mix that with my irrational fear of falling and breaking every bone in my body and well -- I should just get a pair of boots.
I don't want anything dorky...
And 2" stilletto black leather boots wouldn't work for me either...
So what the heck else is there out there?!?!

Are you planning to change into regular shoes once at work? Or, do you want them to be "indoor/outdoor"? If you plan to change, I would suggest Totes. They are not the cutest, but the ones I got are plain black and are warm and waterproof. They work for trucking through the snow/sleet/rain and they typically blend in with my work clothes. Although I wouldn't choose to wear them all day at work.

I bought a great and COMFY pair from Rockport a few yrs ago. they are water-proof and are actually "cute". well, as far as snow boots go

I got my DH a pair of boots from LL bean that actually look OK with jeans too -- and on a snowy day I can totally wear jeans all day at work so I probably wouldn't even change -- so I might be able to do something like that.
I haven't checked out Timberland, Totes or Columbia so thanks for those ideas! I'll be doing some web surfing tonight!

I bought a pair of Khombu boots from zappos last year and I loved them. I'd wear them to work and then change to regular shoes when I got to my desk.
I could wear them all the way up and they fit under my boot cut pants. They are very warm and comfortable.
1st pic: Khombu Bellino (last years model - still for sale on zappos)
2nd pic: Khombu Bellino 2 (this years model)

I never heard of them until I started searching for good winter boots. I went to a few ski shops and found a few good brands, then I looked online for the same boots (found much better prices online).
I like checking out shoes on Zappos.com because they give multiple views of the shoes from different angles, and they give user reviews.

i was in the north face over the weekend and they have the "nuptse bootie" they were really cute in person- i saw them in black but i could only find white online... only $70 too!
