I think brown nosing only goes so far. Eventually, people that you are brown nosing realize that you are not sincere.

None on your poll applies to the way I think of it. Sometimes a little brown nosing is good for your career....maybe even necessary. But it only goes so far as pmpk said.
So I guess my reply would be a *little* brown nosing is sometimes good.
As far as other people doing it, as long as it doesn't affect me, I really don't care that much.

I am competant and get along with almost everyone, so I have never really felt the need to BN. If other people do it, I can find it annoying at times, but it doesn't really affect me, so I don't worry about it too much.

depends on the person
i deal with many clients and all walks of life
i know one man that LOOOOOVES being the boss and loves getting his asss kissed...its ridiculous actually..
he loves yelling and stating his authority....(insert puke icon)
but if i didnt kiss his asss id never get any business from him...
so i just do what people like
a chamelion of sorts...
im for geting ahead in the office and w/ clients so i try ot please them
if my *** kissing is that blatant, someone will point it out to me and we will laugh about it...however being that i am a broker, my job is kissing *** and making clients happy so its more the norm

I agree - I brownose to a point....I have a certain level I wont go above. And the brownosing is only to keep the peace.
