Hi - I'm new here with a word of advice!!

Hi Ladies! I'm new to these boards. I've been off BCP for a month now and was planning on actively ttc in late fall, with a "if it we have a happy accident before then, so be it" attitude. However I went to the doctor and since I never had the chickenpox, he recommended that I get the chicken pox vaccine. Apparently it is very dangerous to get chicken pox as an adult and even more dangerous to the baby if you get it while pregnant. Unfortunately, we now have to wait till late fall since you have to get 2 shots, a month apart, and then wait one month after to start ttc.

So, I just wanted to say hello and pass on the information to any ladies who may not have had the chicken pox!

Fortunately, Ive already had the chicken pox but I think its great that youve already shared this information with everyone!

I never had them and my doctor told me not to get the shot.... I have asked 2 doctors on this, I have been exposed alot, my sister had them in the same house as me, next time I get blood taken I am going to ask them to see if I have an immunity.

Hi.....just wanted to tell you that my mom got the chicken pox while pregnant with me...29 years ago and nothing happen to me. I have never had the chicken pox and my mom was told when i was younger that when she had it I had too inside of her.
