With Cameron Diaz, that is a must see.
Hmph. . . . I was soooooo excited about this movie, I LOVED , Good in Bed, Jennifer Weiner's first book. But I can not tell you how disappointed I was to see Cameron Diaz all over the posters for this movie . . .
The book is written in the first person of her sister, (Toni Collette) who is a overweight woman trying to deal w/ her beautiful thin sister. Jennifer Weiners books purposefully feature bigger women and here comes a movie that can only showcase Cameron Diaz, who while beautiful, doesn't showcase what this book was about. Toni Collette should be on all of those ads, etc. Sorry, vent over.

no i understand completely!!! reading the book now, well only in first couple of pages. Wanted to read it before I see movie.

I agree. I read the book, and feel the same way.
I loved the book though, and will still probably see it.

Funny, I read the book last year. I got it because my library was selling their copy. I think it came out a few years ago and I guess it didn't circulate much. Not the best book but what do you want for 25 cents.

I couldn't have said this better myself. It is extremely upsetting to me that Jennifer Weiner would sell-out so much as to completely change the very point of the book.

I know!!!! Not only that, but I read an interview. w/ J. Weiner who said that she put her foot down and would not allow Toni Collette to wear a fat suit, she had to gain 20lbs. So she goes that far, but lets the spotlight of the movie be cameron diaz, who is the secondary character in the book!

I wonder how much contol Jennifer Weiner has over the promotion of the movie, though. I liked "Good in Bed" better than "In her Shoes", so I wasn't really planning on seeing it anyway.
