Going to try to go to a Billy Joel Concert one more time....
and hope not to either
A. get in a fight
B. Have annoying DRUNK ,obnoxious,loud,rude sit behind us.
We are going to see Billy Joel on Monday night....the last two times I went (once about 7 years ago - the women behind us picked a fight with us and physically attacked my friend because we were standing and she couldn't see - we were in section 400 nobody could see) and we recently went and were surrounded by obnoxious (barley 21) drunk people who were making the biggest a-holes out of themselves and ruined our evening 
I don't understand, it's Billy Joel for crying out loud....why do people act up?? So I am going one more time and hopefully this time I will enjoy myself...if not, then I give up

It wasn't like we were the only ones standing...everybody was...and it was during the opening song....and she was nasty about it....she screamed at us to sit down and we ignored her (if she would of asked nicely then we totally would of) and the next thing you know she grabs my friends arm and started violently shaking her screaming and yelling that she is gonna get us kicked out...totally uncalled for...eventually security came and she got HER seat moved (if you ask me I think she did it just to get better seats) some people

If it's any consolation...we went last month and had no problems whatsoever. People were friendly and fun, no obnoxious drunks... good luck!!

We are going on Monday night also. we went to his first show this tour and had no problems..
BUT I have to agree with don... If you want to stand spend the extra $$ to be on the floor

ETA - I turned the offer down...
I meant me!! Now I'm insulted that she didn't offer me pot!!! She was yelling my name through half the show...I thought we were buds!!

well that whole standing incident was 7 years ago...i was a lot younger (and brattier) then...regardless I don't think it was right how the women went pshyco on us (it was only the first song it wasn't like we were standing the entire concert) Anyway...I'm keeping the faith that this concert experience will be better

It was awesome!!!! It was a concert, we wanted to dance!!!!

Good luck! I once screamed at someone at a Billy Joel/Elton John concert b/c they were smoking inside Continental Airlines Arena and my sister was pregnant. We asked her once nicely to put it out, and she ignored us. I started screaming at her, which is SO uncharacteristic of me.
I hate when people get annoyed at others for standing during a concert, esp. when almost EVERYONE else it standing. I almost saw a fight start over that at the last billy joel concert I went to. I try to be considerate of those behind me, and if I see they are not big standers, I'll be selective about when I stand.

That's a great way to be considerate. When my wife and I were just at the Billy Joel concert, we were down on the floor in like the 10th row so we wanted to dance! So we danced when appropriate and sat during the ballads...cept Downeaster Alexa cuz I love to belt that one out!

Hope your experience is better than your last concert. There was a family sitting in front of us at the Billy Joel concert. They kept standing up which was kind of annoying b/c they were the only ones standing. The mom and the teenage son sang every word of every song. I felt bad b/c they had a kid with them who was about 10 and looked like he was having the most miserable time. The rest of the family stood up and danced and he just looked bored and mortified to be with them.
The one thing that really surprised me was smelling pot several times during the concert. I couldn't imagine that people would want to get high at that kind of concert. It's Billy Joel, not Phish or Dave Matthews.
