Hospital Paperwork?

I don't know of I should post this here or on parenting, but did you mail out your insurance paperwork to the hospital before you went into labor? OR Did you bring it with you to the hospital in your suitcase?

I have no idea what to do. The doctor's office told me to mail it in, but to make copies in case they loose it. I asked well, how often do the loose it or not process it and they laughed and told me then to just bring it with me. UMMMM, OK ????????Chat Icon Chat Icon What do I do? What did you do? TIA.

Re: Hospital Paperwork?

I would do just what he said. I would make copies and mail them in.
This was if they do get them and process them it will make things easier for you when you arrive.

Thank you. I will mail it in, but based on the reaction I received from the nurses I really don't think they will process it ahead of time.

Re: Hospital Paperwork?

Maybe, but then you'll have them with you anyways.. you can also call about a week after you mail them and ask them if they processed them yet.. maybe it would push them along to do it?

I believe this is what my doctors office did, cause a couple of weeks back the hospital called to confirm a couple of things

This is exactly what I am doing. I should have done this earlier. Chat Icon
On a good note, I found out that I don't have to be pre-certified by my insurance carrier. Chat Icon

Re: Hospital Paperwork?

After reading these posts I called LIJ to see if they received my paperwork from the Dr.'s office. They told me that they are doing July right now but when they enter you in the computer you usually get a packet from the hospital and then there are more forms to fill out and send back to them.

I didn't get around to doing paperwork with Joseph, but mailed it in for Maddie, red'd a confirmation too. Didn't matter a bit because they kept DH down filling out paperwork - and she wasn't waiting for him. Chat Icon By the time he got up there, she was on the french fry warmer already.

Good tip would be to keep a copy so you can throw it at the person in admitting.
