Ohhhh I want to send you lots of !!! I am so sorry you are going through this!!! If it means that much to you I would try and call her and get her to talk to you!! Unless of course ou've already tried that!! In'laws can be so hard to deal with!! I can understand you wanting Bella to know her cousins and I can understand your feelings for DH in all of this. It is a hard position to be in. Like I said before if you want to really try go for it!! You never know maybe just maybe it could all work out for the best!! again!!!

I don't have any SIL Problems, but it seems to me your SIL is VERY jealous of you! I would show up at her house and confront her face to face and if that doesnt work, I would just not bother with her it seems like she has a lot of issues anyway! Hugs for u...

I am so sorry you have to be the brunt of this woman's hostilities...someone seriously needs to chil But unfortunately there isn't much you can do about it. DH needs to be the one to address the issues with his sister. If you get yourself even further involved, it just makes you look like an instigator. If DH does it, it's showing that you are a united front and that he's not going to take her b.s.
BTDT with my in-laws (same situation as you) and yes I do feel bad that Amber has no idea WHO her uncle and cousins are. But you know what? I have alot of great friends (like Boobobunny, Jamie, Debbie, Sarahsmommy) who have little ones and I hope as the children grow older, she'll look on their children like pseduo cousins. You can't change some people and it's obvious that she is never going to meet you half way. Some people are plain out miserable.
Hugs to you for putting up with what sounds like YEARS of this crap
And shame on MIL for not growing a backbone and spending equal time with her other granddaughter! Again, her loss!

I know, and it drives DH crazy, but talking to her goes nowhere...Thanks for the reassurance. My family adores my DH and we spend a lot of time with them and he has a ton of family in Florida...It just stinks that his immediate family is poo 
My sister tells me all the time that I am doing the right thing, but it is SO different when you have kids...
Kel- i know this is an issue for you even more now that isabella is now here. it is a shame but remember, she IS certifiable. you have been nothing but nice to her and you havent done anything wrong. She is the immature little twit that has got the issues. I do feel bad for Jay because it is his family but you were the bigger person in all of this... Like someone said, she IS jealous!

I do have IL issues that I've been extremely hurt by. I guess if I were you, I would keep making the effort, especially if you want the kids to grow up as family. At least you'll know you tried your very best. I realize this only works if she is willing to speak with you! I know several people who have cut off family/been cut off and I always find it so sad, and like you said, especially when children are involved.
I hope one day this situation gets resolved and I wish you luck!
