I really need to know...Am I the ONLY one still sleeping w/ my 5 mo old???

I know I should start breaking the habit but it's SO hard - for me as much as him.

It is a hard habit to break - but I bet if you do break it you both get a better nights sleep.

On the other hand, if you aren't ready - then maybe it's just not time yet, when the time is right you will know.

Well perhaps but I am still sleeping with my 13 month old. I didnt break that habit until Emma was 14-15 months so Jeremy has another 2 months to go!

Nope. Miranda is still in our room. She's not in our bed most of the time but I have no plans of moving her to her own room any time soon. I just don't want her to be that far away and she still wakes up often so its just easier to have her nearby.

My son doesn't sleep in our bed, but he sleeps in a bassinet right night to my bed and he will be until at least 6 mos old. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Funny that you posted this, I was thinking the same thing today.

My son is still in our bedroom in a pack and play. He did sleep in his crib the other night and I slept on the floor in his room!

Re: I really need to know...Am I the ONLY one still sleeping w/ my 5 mo old???

Well, this makes me feel a little better and alot worse...he is IN my bed. EVERY NIGHT. And trust me - it's not because he sleeps thru the night that way either - he still wakes up 2-3 times a night. I don't know what it is - I just can't move him. Is this terrible???

He does nap in his crib but it doesn't last more than 30-45 minutes.

KP - was it tough transitioning her @ 15 months?

do you have a video monitor? I find that really helpful - so whenever I wake up at night I can take a peak at Talia in her room and know she is ok....maybe that will make the transition easier?

Re: I really need to know...Am I the ONLY one still sleeping w/ my 5 mo old???

Im still sleeping with my 8.5 month old so dont worry, I dont mind it really that is where he likes to sleep we couldnt do CIO and I like the idea of being close and comforting him- they're only young once and I have heard positive things about the long term effects of co sleeping although its still not the general preffered method and many people dont agree with it- it works for us and thats whats importantChat Icon

Every night?

Yep!!

When he was a newborn it was just easier since I was BF. We moved him to his crib at 11 months with some times in between when he would wake up and I would bring him to our bed. This past December he had a fever for 10 days and he was miserable. I ended up letting him sleep with us and he has refused to go back in his crib since. We have decided that co-sleeping works for us and haven't even made an effort to put him back in his crib. When we put him in his own bed in a few months we will try to get him to sleep in his own room but if he doesn't it is no big deal to us. We love having him in our bedChat Icon

Emily is in her crib every night but sometimes I just miss her terribly. I loved having off all last week so that I could at least take cuddle naps with her.

Re: I really need to know...Am I the ONLY one still sleeping w/ my 5 mo old???

Molly slept in our room until she was 5 month old..some nights in her bassinet, some in our bed. She almost always started out in her bassinet and then when she woke up during the night moved to our bed. With working it really was the only thing that got me hours of steady sleep so I took it.
Now she sleeps in her crib with NO problems and has since she was 5.5 months old. If she wakes up at 5am she comes to be with us until she rewakes at 7 and then we all get up for the day.

Stacey slept with Damian for a long time in her bed. You can ask her about it.
