My vent of the day - clearing your throat
There's a woman down the hall from me, who every 15 seconds will let out a little woosy cough or clear her throat. She's been doing this for THREE f'ing hours!!!!!!! I want to go down there and whack her on the back!
Just cough ONCE lady and get it all out!

I work with someone who clears their throat before they speak. I made it into a little game - I get a point every time he does it, and he gets a point when he doesn't do it. I am winning a zillion to zero.

I'm sorry you have to listen to that!
As someone who suffers from sinusitis and post-nasal drip constantly I can understand her need to clear her throat "a-hem" all the time. It stinks and I annoy myself!

 OMG.. my DH and SIL do this all the time.. IT DRIVES ME NUTS!!! I say it is nervous tick thing.. they both get so mad at me!!!!

That's so annoying! There was a man at the gym who used to use the stairclimber and do the same thing but with these coughs - it was horrible and so loud!!!

At least they clear their throat. My pet peeve is when people keep talking and have that raspy phlegmy sound going while they are talking!!

There are actually some medications out there that can cause a person to have to do this. My father is on meds since a stroke 8 years ago and he clears his throat every ten seconds. I'm serious, it's ALL the time. His doctor said it's a side effect from the meds that he needs to clear his throat. He's on two meds that a huge percentage of people over age 50 are on.

My DH does this-I think it is a nervous thing too. He won't admit it but anytime he has to say anything that may be seen as controversial he does it! he gets pis$ed off at me when i tell him this though

my father does this...every day, every night and i can hear him in his room while he clears his throat and i just want to choke myelf lmao

I get allergies and esp in the morning I get congested....or when I get nervous and I feel like I do that a lot too....I'll have to be more conscious of it now!

I had an ex that cleared his throat every time before he spoke. It drove my family nuts. He did it so frequently that I got used to it after a while.
