got so nervous last night.......

I went to the bathroom and when I wiped (sorry TMI) I had a little bit of brownish/red staining. Then when I went back to lie down some cramping....When I woke up this morning it was still there a little bit but very very little..... I am about 4 1/2 weeks.....is this normal??????

cramping and spotting are very common. You are pretty early on so if you went to the doc they may not be able to see the baby yet so a sono is pretty much out of the question.

Just watch the bleeding. If it gets period like you may be having a M/C but if it stays light then all should be well. I would call your doc though, you may be able to get in earlier than 7 weeks for your 1st sono!

Ask your Dr to check your progesterone. If it's low they can give you supplementary

i had this at 5 wks but i was lightly bleeding for a day or two, i called the dr and they did a sono and then a follow up sono a week later and everything was fine, they said sometimes it happens. i would just call the dr and get checked, can't hurt!

I had spotting from the day I missed AF until I was 6 weeks along - for both pregnancies. I am now almost 8 weeks and had my first sono and its fine. As long as the discharge is not blood red (brown and/or pink or any variation thereof is fine). 50% of pregnant woman spot.
