how long do you usually pump each time?

I am only pumping, and I pump for about 20 minutes each time. The lactation nurse in the hospital said to continue for about 2 minutes after you stop seeing milk come out.

It took 3 months of pumping to get there!! I remember thinking I will never get it up there.

the only time i can get a good amount of milk is if i pump first thing in the morning. sometimes after feeding DS on onde side i'll pump the other side and i can get usually about 4 ounces in about 10-15 minutes. lately if i pump at night, i can only get about 1 ounce and that could be after a half hour. i used to be able to pump more, but i don't know what happened. i don't pump during the day because i feel like then DS won't have anything to eat when it's time to BF. When does everyone do their pumping?

I pump after DD is done eating. Its BF, burp session, pump. I used to get 2-3 oz. now I get about an 1/2 -1 oz. I just add up the oz during the day to make a 4oz bottle for DH.
I think pumping like this helps my milk supply because my supply was almost gone when I stopped pumping and when i started up again it is coming back, slowly. HTH

Yes i do. I give her 2-3oz of formula about 45 min -1 hour after she has the BM.

That's OK. Sometime DD needs more than the 2-3oz and takes in 4 or 5. The way I look at it is that any amount if BM that I can give her is a good thing and thank God that I had a supply to even give to her. A friend of mine had no supply after giving birth. Don't be hard on yourself.

yeah..i felt guilty at first, but I just always think some breast milk is better than none!" Now I don't feel guilty bc she is a very good sleeper and I think that has to do with the formula..
