So we were collecting $ for a co-workers bridal shower...
I put my $5 in the envelope and signed my name on it and I hand the envelope w/ $10 total in it to this guy next to me . He gives it back to me w/ the same amout of $ and signed his name like he put $$ in it.   Why sign your name and not give $. Some people.

in that case i say something like, "since you weren't able to give money today, do you think you can contribute tomorrow?"

I would flat out ask him if he is planning on putting anything in later today or tomorrow and tell him if he's not your crossing his name off. Maybe he's waiting til lunch to get some money. But do it soon, before you get more money in there or he'll say I did put it in, and then you can say nope only 10 when I gave it to ya and 10 when I got it back.
