home invasion - Smithtown?
I was away all last week and am just catching up on local news, etc, and my dad sent me an article about a home invastion in Smithtown last week. It was vague though. As a newcomer to the area, it made me nervous though I know it can happen anywhere. Anyone have any details? FM if you do not want to post.
These home invasions are so scary. My MIL's boss in Oyster Bay Cove was a victim of the home invastions this summer and lost a ton of stuff. He has 2 Rottweilers (who were beaten by the robbers!).

Ok, what I heard was that it was a basement apartment that got invaded during a house party. They came in and took everyone's wallets and then took off. They think it was someone who knew the people there, from what I heard. And it was not related to any other invasions that have happened.

I didn't hear anything about someone being pistol whipped. JT has connections with the news, and he usually gets more info than is made public, and nothing of that nature was mentioned. I just asked him again.

yeah it was not linked to the other home invasions and they said the enterance to the appt was not visible from the street so they think it was someone that knew about the party. i wouldnt worry. i grew up in smithtown for 28 years and this is the first ive heard of an home invasion. i read the police beat every week and its petty stuff that happens like a car being broken into.

I posted about it last week - its disturbing, but it seems that the burglers knew the apartment-dwellers. The apartment was robbed, but the HOUSE it's attached to wasn't touched? C'mon, somethings fishy.
