I was shocked when DH told me he had 3 errors.  He's still my favorite. They always $uck against the Braves.

I was there too. They just couldn't get a hit off the pitcher. How many did they end up getting like 3? They looked flat to me, I don't know like they almost didn't want to be there.
Or maybe they are intimidated by the Braves. It's the team they can't beat. The other day DH was talking about how they haven't lost a series yet. I was like "the Braves are coming up they'll put an end to that". He was like "how can you say that"...because i'm being realistic here, the braves have our number. Freaking Andruw Jones is a Mets killer. 3 homeruns in three games. 2 were in one game alone. If it's not him it's the other Jones character (Chipper) that will do it to us.

I agree. There's always at least 1 or 2 Braves players, if not more, who own the Mets. It will be even worse once Chipper and Renteria come back. Of course some of the big bats on the Mets have been out, but even when everyone is healthy it's tough for the Mets to take a series from the Braves.

I agree. There's always at least 1 or 2 Braves players, if not more, who own the Mets. It will be even worse once Chipper and Renteria come back. Of course some of the big bats on the Mets have been out, but even when everyone is healthy it's tough for the Mets to take a series from the Braves.
I agree. DH was like "well we didn't have Beltran, Floyd, and LoDuca" but i told him that it would still be a battlle. I was like "face it, this team has our number"

Frankly... I don't care if we EVER beat the Braves. They are just one team out of 30. I think the whole "we cant beat the braves thing" is just overrated.
Just as long as we beat the crap out of everyone else... we are fine.
Why do I say this?
1st off.... we will NEVER play the braves in the 1st round of the playoffs. We didn't even have to face them when we went to the WS in 2000.
2nd... the Braves are playoff CHOKERS. Overall... they choke more than even the Yanks.  It took a walk by an a$$hole hick pitcher for them to beat us in '99. That won't happen again in a seven game series.
3rd... the Yanks can't beat crap teams like Tampa Bay. Do you think THEY are worried?
4th... while the Braves beat us.... a crap team like Philadelphia beat the Braves. Again... do you think THEY are worried?
I rest my case.

I don't see how he can suk more than somebody thats batting .140.
Screw the good defense... if you can't bat at least .200... you don't belong in the major leagues.

With the Mets line-up, provided everyone is healthy, I'd take a bad bat for a great defensive player. Matsui has made a lot of errors and although he'll have a better batting avg, he's not a great addition to the offense.

There is a difference between someone who has a bad bat... and someone that is just totally useless.
Forget singles... he can't do ANYTHING with the bat. Can't bunt the runner over. Can't take a walk. Can't hit a decent pitch.
I think Matsui batting 8th will be fine. He has speed. Can do the fundementals (like moving runners over).
The problem with Matsui was batting him 2nd. Dumb move. Almost as dumb as batting Ahern second.
