UGH...the Metformin is making me SO SICK!
I need to vent!!!!!!
I am happy that I am finally on meds that are supposed to help me ovulate but this Metformin is making me SOOOO SICK! I was lucky the first couple of days..no side effects at all but now, every day, I feel like I am dieing I swear! My stomach is always raw, I live in the bathroom, I am light headed, naseous and the other night I threw up!!!! I had to up my dosage to 1000 miligrams a day yesterday and now its even worse! I just really hope this medication works and gets me ovulating SOON and then gets us pregnant because I dont know if I can stay on this med much longer 
I know so many of you are going through rougher things and I give you ALL soo much credit but I just had to get that off my chest!

Oh Geez!!! I am so sorry to hear what it is doing to you. I had no idea the side effects were that bad. I know I had asked about it and the Dr. said I didn't need it and all it would make me do is go to the bathroom.
Nausea was never mentioned.
I hope you feel better, maybe it takes a bit for your system to get used to it and the side effects will go away. I hope that is the case for your sake.

Oh no!! Im sorry you feel so awful..... one of my close friends is on it, and she had the same thing..IT did go away for her...so theres light at the end of the tunnel!!

OH gosh Noreen, I have heard from others that Metformin is pretty bad with side effects  I am hoping that it gets a bit better for you and that before long, you wont need it because you will be PG

I take it every day and this is only the second week and only 1000 miligrams..I have to get up to 2000 a day. Honestly, I dont think I will make it to that dosage, I am just way too sick. Plus I go back to work on Wednesday (teacher) and have a 40 minute drive, and once I get there, I cant keep running to the bathroom. I dont know what I am gonna do, hopefully the side effects get a bit better.

OMG I'm sorry you are so sick!! Maybe you should call your dr and let them know your side effects are so severe? Maybe they can change your meds?

I second what Kathy just said - can you call your doctor and maybe change to a different medication, or some other alternative? You shouldn't have to go through this!

I feel your pain--UGH!!!
I have been on it for 2 months now and am up to 2000 mg a day. Some days are better but some days are still bad. I was sooooo sick the 1st month that I considered stopping it. Constantly sick to my stomach, headaches, and moody. I was afraid to go out to long because I was always running to the bathroom. I also threw up a few times.
Now, my stomach is still a little off but not as bad. There are days when I feel nauseous all day and others when I feel fine. I just hope it starts to work because no ovulating for me yet?!!?!!
