My opinionated SIL..GRRRR (long vent)
Although I like her a lot, she has a way with words. Either she doesn't think before she speaks, doesn't care or doesnt have enough brains. She has made numerous comments about my butt being huge and changing shape, tells me all the time I must be having twins and other really stupid comments. I had DH explain to her about her hurtful comments and he basically told her to shut her face. By the way I'm going into my 21st week and am up 11 pounds. Not so bad.
So today I show her my Level II sono which is clear as day. She asks me "Are you sure there isnt another one in there? There must be." And stares at it for minutes. I completely ignore her...thinking she'll get a clue. Then she sees another pic of my
 's package  . Its perfect and clear as day, She continues to tell me that its not clear and for all we know it could be a girl but continues to rant about her friend 20 years ago who was told one sex but had another. I have explained that times have changes from decades ago.
And then comments on how she would prefer a neice anyway since I already gave her a nephew!
Am I wrong for wanting to kick her teeth in?

She is just a very rude person..there is no doubt about that. What if you looked straight out her and said, "Do you realize just how rude you really are?"

Totally agree.
I wouldnt' be sharing one more piece of info on my pregnancy with her. If she kept up with the rude comments, it could affect her future nephews accesss.

Wow, she really is pretty stupid. I would have been livid.  Since she's obviously such a big fan of "honesty" you should really tell her like it is. Tell her she sounds like a real idiot making comments like that, and you're not sure if you feel insulted or just sorry for her.

You are not wrong at all. IMHO, she knows what she is saying. I would tell her that she should keep her comments to herself. also, I would do it right after she makes a comment, this way there is no way for her to deny that she said it.

I would tell her that she is very rude and that if she continues to make comments like that, even though she may think they are funny, that you will stop including her on your pregnancy updates, songram pics, etc.

It sounds like she might be jealous of you?
Either way- she needs to be dealt with- I know, easier said than done. I still have yet to tell my mom to stop making comments on how big I'm getting....Confrontation can be really hard....I wish you the best of luck! Sorry you are going through this....

Oh boy, I have a SIL from hell too. good luck- do what I did, I told her not to call the house anymore! It worked, this way she can think about how stupid she is being! DH agrees with me!
Sometimes there is no other way to get through to them until you cut them out temporarily.

Believe it or not, she is 44!! I definitely think jealousy comes into play...but its no excuse especially when my DH already told her to shut her hole!
