questions for moms of 2-5 yr olds

Ok before i start I want you to know i am writing this for opinions not b/c i am judging how things are done.

Ok every weekend we are around a bunch of kids including my Dh neice and her two cousins all ages 2 1/2, 3 1/2 and 4 1/2 and other kids as well since we have a cabana for teh summer.

Now this is what i nopticed that was very different form when i was a kid. i noticed that the kids have so many choices( again i dont know if this is good or bad)
For example when i was younger it was "It's lunchtime come on your hot dog is ready".

Now its" Are you hungry?", If they say no play continues... If yes then its ok would you like a hot dog, chicken or soup?"

Now i kow what some people might say" its the summer your are at the beach, structure takes a back seat but this is year long i just happen to notice it this summer but thnking back it happens in the winter too.

I understand you shouldnt force a kid to eat but if the kid had breakfast at 8 or even 10 and by 1 or so has been runnign around for hours the need to eat no? Of course the kid is going to say no they want to play.

Ok enough rambling.. how does it work these days?

We just got back from vacation. For the most part I would ask Emma (3 years old) if she were hungry and if she said no I wouldnt force the issue but if she said yes I would offer her some items and let her make the choice of what she wanted.

i can't really answer that question b/c Sofia is a very good eater. I've never had a problem with her appetite. (she's 2)
