hair dresser vent...
A friend of mine always colors my hair...She went for school for hair, but never got licencsed.... She is a shampoo girl at a salon..so I either:
a) have her come to my house... I pay for the color and make her dinner
B) when shes not busy at work her boss will let her "play" with my hair...I just pay for what I use...
Well I call her tonight to tell her...I wanna do my hair...and she tells me.."ok but you have to pay" I say I dont mind paying for my colors... and she says no the full price... (like 200 bucks)
I was like "why you're not licencsed?" She goes, but no one else (meaning customers) know that.... and I say well I do...
Anyways.... shes good at hair...there are times I think it comes out awesome, and other times, i wanna hide my head... but it never matters to me, because Im not paying for it....
Basically...if im gonna pay over 200 bucks to get my hair done...I wanna go to a licensced professional... not someone who is playing with my hair in between shampoos... ya know?
My friend is insulted...and I understand why.... but am I wrong?

I would just say that you don't have the $ to pay the full price. Ask her if when it's convenient for her, she could come to your house and do it, and you'll pay for the supplies.

Yea... but then dosent understand why...if im gonna pay full price, Id rather go to a licensed professional...???

Hmmm, that's a tough one. First of all, I think this "friend" is not being very nice to put you in this situation...I have a friend who is a hairdresser and would come to my house any time to cut my hair (although I don't have her do my hair regularly)
$200 is ALOT of $$, you could get it for much cheaper. If you LOVED the way she did your hair all the time, I'd say it might be worth it because it is so hard to find a colorist that you are really happy with, but you said 1/2 the time you don't even like it...
Personally, I'd go somewhere else.

That is crazy. I would never pay that price for a unlicensed shampoo girl to do my hair.
Your friend is not being very fair to you.

I don't know why your friend would screw you over like that. I can understand maybe wanting to make money doing what she does, but $200 and not even licensed? I would love to know what salon she works at!
