BTDT moms of girls...Ears Pierced?

I have my DD's 4 month appointment today. We have the option of getting her ears pierced. Did you get your DD's ears pierced at 4 months or did you wait? Were you concerned that the earring would fall out? or that your DD would pull it out and put it in her mouth?

Am I being overly cautious? I would love to get her ears pierced, but I am concerned about the safety of it. TIA

I got DD's done at 6 months - I was only concerned about them getting infected. If you clean and turn them every day, she'll be fine.

We got Hayley's done at 5 months and she didn't get an infection.

I got Julia's done at 3 months, no problems at all! I took her to a jewelry store by me that I love and been going to for years, and she cried for like a few seconds. Julia has never touched them at all, and shes 14 months now.

I had Tori's done at 4 months. So far no problems at all. The piercers have a very tight back(I can hardly remove them) so I'm not worried about her pulling them out. She did feel them for 1 day after but now that are a part of her. She didn't get an infection at all. I swab them down with alcohol often. I wouldn't suggest piercing and shots all in one day. MOF my pediatrician won't do it but some do.
