Is June Hurricane Season?
Due to my class schedule, I can't go away until June  But, I want to go to Nevis or somewhere else in the carribbean...is June a bad time to go?
TIA! 
ETA: Has anyone been to the Cayman Islands? Are they affected by hurricane season?

Yes its hurricane season but it is not Peak season like late summer early fall.
Last year...
The 2005 Atlantic hurricane season officially began on June 1, 2005, and lasted until November 30, 2005

Cayman was HURT by the hurricanes last year. A lot of the places are either in the process of being rebuilt or just reopening. Cayman is GORGEOUS!!!!

They typically become more active later in the summer but the season officially starts June 1 as someone posted above.

They're predicting an active 2006 Hurricane season. June is your best shot if you're going in the summer. Later in the season is usually more active.
Hurricane season in the Atlantic Basin, which includes the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico, runs from June 1 to Nov. 30. Forecasters expected a busy season in 2006.Source

June 1 - Nov 31 is hurricane season. June though is heavy rainy season. But FL rainy season is pretty predictable. It rains everyday at 3pm for about 20 minutes. A few storms and a few power surges.
However, June is not as bad as compared to the the later months (August - October).
I have been in FL for 2 yrs and my first year we had 4 hurricanes in a matter of a few weeks during August and September (Charlie, Ivan, Jeanne, and I cant remember the last one)
2005 Wilma hit FL and that was in October.
