Sometimes I just don't understand people. UPDATE below
I got a promo card for the AC hotel we're staying at on Sunday in today's mail.
The promo is $10 cheaper than the already cheap rate I am paying, and it includes free breakfast buffet for 2.
I call up the hotel, and ask to apply this promo to my reservation (I've done this in the past, and its NEVER been a problem). I'm told that I can't do that, because the hotel is sold out.
So I calmly explain that I ALREADY have a room booked, I just want to apply the promo. Again, she tells me that I can't do that, because she doesn't have a room to give me.
Ok, so I say - what if I CANCEL the room that I already have, and REBOOK using the promo? AGAIN, she says "Oh I'm sorry, we're sold out that day." I spend 5 minutes explaining that if I cancel a room, they have a room open, right? (YOU get it, don't you?) She says, "Oh."
Then tells me that there's nothing she can do for me at this time, try calling back Friday to see if there are any cancellations!

I spoke with a supervisor this morning- I was told that what the MORON was trying to explain to me last night was that they only allow a certain # of rooms to be sold at the promo rate, and they reached their limit for Sunday night already.
NOW WHY COULDN'T SHE JUST SAY THAT YESTERDAY?!?!?!
I'm already getting a great rate, but they threw in Breakfast for free too - for my "inconvenience"
