Westin's Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbour (which is very close to Tampa) is really nice. We are going there in July when we visit my mother.

I am going to Tampa at the end of June and staying at the Marriott.
I spent a lot of time in Tampa for work and it is a great city, you will have a ton of fun.

My mom told me its a not so nice place  BUT she hasnt been there for years.

I went to Ft. Myers Beach in January (visiting my Dad who rented a place for a couple of months).
I was pretty, very clean, beach sand is beautiful.
I'm probably the worst person to ask b/c I'm not Florida's biggest fan. I felt the town was definetly not geared towards a younger crowd. All the stores & restaurants are big chain places (which is terrific if you like that) .
It was a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.
