If they wouldnt of in the beginning of hte movie had Ennus explain he saw that as a kid it would have left a little.. but when he said that in the beginning I kinda figured that was how it was gonna play out

I agree with this.
I also think his wife KNEW what happened to him and made up the other story for appearances. Her family was well known in their community and it was probably better for her to stick to the lie than believe the truth.
I think she knew the truth, and she knew about the relationship b/t Heath and Jake...not at first, but I think she eventually figured it out.

yea i agree... especially since she had tears in her eyes after awhile of talking to him on the phone.. and hung up so abruptly
