Do you go out and leave the appliances running at home?
I am sitting here waiting for the laundry and dishwasher to finish.. I want to just go already!

I would go out with the dishwasher or the washing machine running...but not the dryer.

No, I never leave appliances on. It scares me way too much. I know I would be anxious the whole time wondering if my house was still there.

Me too. I don't leave anything on. I even have trouble sleeping if I leave a load in the dryer or washer!

Re: Do you go out and leave the appliances running at home?
Dishwasher or dryer, yes. Washer, no. We are in a condo and our neighbor's washer once backed up into our utility area. I would be nervous of that happening to them and us not being there. Then again, it was their kid who robbed us so I don't know why I care.

Re: Do you go out and leave the appliances running at home?
Washer, dryer, dishwasher, A/C is all fine...but nothing else.
Oh and the computer. I barely turn it off. Just let the screen saver run since I read that it uses more energy to turn it on and off then to just let it run on screen saver.

No. Too many times the dishwasher has leaked on me and I don't trust a fire in the dryer.

Re: Do you go out and leave the appliances running at home?
I'm surprised at how many of you wouldn't leave the house with the dryer on.. I wouldn't leave the house with the washing machine on only for the fact that I like to put my clothes into the dryer as soon as they are washed. Everything else.... I just go... candles too
eta... I wouldn't leave the house however if I had the oven on... one time I did, but that was because my sister was on her way over and I knew she would be there soon to watch my roast

Re: Do you go out and leave the appliances running at home?
While we have a laundry room now, when we have a house, I will not leave them running and not be home. I unplug the coffee pot, toaster oven and make sure everything is off. Too paranoid.

Re: Do you go out and leave the appliances running at home?
nope... never leave any appliances running when i'm not home.... DHs best friend is a firefighter, and hes told us waaay too many stories of appliances causeing fires or floods when people weren't home.... if i have a load in the dryer and have to go out, i'll turn it off before i leave and write myself a note to turn it back on when i get back... its not worth the risk, imo...
